Hi My Name is Andrea
And I have a compost problem. I started suspecting it when I started mowing things that didn't need to be mowed just to have grass clippings to put on top of the Burdock in my compost pile. But it was undeniably confirmed with I caught myself fantasizing about mowing the ditches along Hwy 6 with my wee mower with grass bagger to take home to my compost.... Isn't there a support group for this? I'll probably need to get all new friends because I think most of my friends have the same addiction - most have multiple addictions that include extreme gardening....

LOL!!! I tried reading this post outloud to Annika but I couldn't because I was laughing so hard.
Extreme gardeningaddictions? You can't possibly be talking about THIS friend... LOL!!
And I am reading that and thinking....What's the problem???
I don't see any of those things as problems. Does that mean that I am in denial??
Okay here's what I do when I feel the need to top up my compost. I take a backpack over to my mother-in-laws house and fill it up with comfrey leaves. It's amazing how much comfrey will fit into a backpack.
My name is Sheila and I too have an extreme gardening addiction, to the point that I am neglecting my children (or so they say). My weird, strange, homeschooled children I might point out.
Thanks for the sensible comments, Andrea. I really appreciate them. And I'll join your addiction group anytime. Just don't expect me to change my wicked ways...
Hey Andrea,
Laura tells me that you make your own laundry detergent. Do you have a recipe for it? If so, can I have it?
By the way, I love your house and yard and everything. You remind me so much of my aunt who passed away 6 years ago. She had a farm house and yard and raised her own chickens and was totally into organic stuff. Good for you, you are inspiration to many.

That's funny! Well, I have a confession...this week we got our big black container back from friends that didn't want it anymore and now we have room for it, so were quite pleased to start composting again. A few months ago though, when we knew we'd be getting it back, I started saving some kitchen scraps in the freezer! It wasn't that much, just a container full. I wanted to have something to put in it when our composter arrived. I know my husband thought I was crazy!
